Red kidney beans and rice recipe
Recipe ingredients:
1/2 cup green pepper (chopped)
1 - 15 1/2 ounces can kidney beans (drained)
1/4 cup
3 cups MINUTE White Rice (cooked)
Preparation
Cook and stir green pepper and onion in oil in large skillet
on medium heat until tender. Stir in chicken broth, beans
and pepper sauce. Bring to boil.
Stir in rice
Remove from heat and serve
Spicy black beans and rice recipe
Recipe ingredients:
3 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 small onion (chopped)
1/2 green bell pepper (chopped)
1 clove garlic, minced
2 cans 15 ounce black beans, rinsed and drained
1 tablespoons white vinegar
Dash of Tabasco
3 cups white rice, cooked
1 tablespoon dried oregano
salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation
Heat oil in a large skillet; saute onion,
green peppers and garlic.
Add black beans, vinegar and Tabasco.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat cover and
simmer for about 5 minutes.
Stir in cooked rice and oregano and heat through.
Serves 6.
Pinto Beans and Rice in a Crock Pot
Recipe ingredients:
1 (1 lb) bag dried pinto beans
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup picante sauce
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 bay leaves
1 cup cooked white rice
Preparation
Rinse beans in colander and put in a crock pot.
Cover with water about 2 inches over top of beans.
Add all ingredients, except rice.
Cook on high in crock pot about 3 hours til tender.
(Add more water if necessary)
Add rice and cook until rice is warm.
Great served with cornbread.

contain a harmful toxin that must be destroyed by cooking.
One method is to boil the beans for at least ten minutes.
Cooking beans in a slow cooker may not destroy the toxins
if the beans do not reach boiling stay there for at least ten minutes.
